Jeanine Casler has taught a variety of
courses in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences,
including classes in the eighteenth-century novel, the
literature of the Romantic period, and satire. In addition,
she teaches Engineering Design and Communication, an
innovative course in the McCormick School that integrates
writing instruction into engineering projects. Her research
has centered on the recovery/rediscovery of forgotten
women authors. Editor of the first critical edition
of Clara Reeve's 1791 novel The School for Widows,
(Delaware, 2002), she has published articles on the
eighteenth-century novel, women writers, and editing
theory; she is currently working on a study of the representation
of older women in the novels of the later eighteenth
century.
