Writing Program celebrates Penny Hirsch's 40 years at Northwestern

October 16, 2018

In honor of Penny Hirsch's retirement, the Writing Program celebrated her 40 years of service to Northwestern with cocktails and refreshments in Harris Hall yesterday. In addition to Writing Program colleagues past and present, attendees included faculty and staff from the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, the McCormick School of Engineering & Applied Science, and the Searle Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching.

The wide gamut of attendees were an attestation to the integral contributions Hirsch made across the university, as was the inscription on the vase gifted by her Writing Program colleagues: "With appreciation for your decades of devotion to both your students and colleagues. You have made Northwestern a better place to study and work."
